Studi-397 surprised us yesterday when they suddenly delivered an early Christmas present in the form of new content for rFactor 2. The new content comprises mainly two new cars and a season update.
BTCC 2022 update and Vauxhall Astra
The entire lineup of current rFactor 2 BTCC 2021 cars will receive brand-new liveries, driver names etc. to bring the series bang up to date with the 2022 championship. This new update is free for owners of the 2021 car pack.

The Vauxhall Astra was also introduced to continue increasing the rFactor 2 BTCC lineup. Despite being somewhat long in the tooth, the front-wheel drive Astra is still popular amongst BTCC fans and should make for an exciting drive in rFactor 2.

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992)

This car is already popular in iRacing and is a welcomed addition to rFactor 2. The car was developed by Porsche and includes input from World's Fastest Gamer, Rudy van Buuren. Since it will race as a cup car, meaning it will be a one-make series, racing should be close and very competitive.
Other updates and improvements

Studio-397 updated several tracks to fix track limits issues, DRS zones, optimisations and various other improvements. They also gave the StockCar 2018 series an overhaul with new liveries, a new digital dash, new engine sounds and a few other changes. The Vanwall LMH receives a BOP change and changes to the rev limit, a tyre wear fix, more gear ratios and shift protection. Visit Studio-397.com for the complete list of updates.
Final thoughts
Studio-397 has done what they set out to do and has revitalised rFactor 2 with continuous updates and improvements and new content that includes high-quality cars and tracks. With rFactor 2 being recently added to Low Fuel Motorsport, we foresee rFactor 2 still having a long lifespan within the sim racing community.
