Patch 1.9.3 arrived yesterday for Assetto Corsa Competizione bringing with it the usual performance improvements, bug fixes and one new car: the Mclaren 720S GT3.
Car Information
The car is very similar to its regular 720s predecessor, with nearly identical styling cues and specifications that are more or less inline. The major differences visually are the front and rear aerodynamic surfaces that contribute to the car having improved overall downforce with a balance shift that's more towards the front.
The car also has more adjustments available for suspension changes that, combined with the aerodynamic upgrades, should result in an overall performance improvement.
Other changes
Patch 1.9.3 also changed the steering lock on the Ferrari 296 from the original 1000° down to 400°. The ECU on the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 has been changed to help with fuel consumption. Changes have been made to the Balance of Performance at Bathurst and Paul Ricard, which should help the Bentley and Honda drivers be much more competitive.
Final thoughts
The Mclaren 720S GT3 has always been our favourite car in ACC, mainly because it suits our driving style due to its high downforce and mid-engined layout. The new EVO should be a natural progression for us, and we're looking forward to testing it out.
Patch 1.9.3 is available now for Steam users. The Mclaren is available as a free update. No news yet on when this will become available on console.
