Patch V1.08 rolling out for F1 23

The updates and patches for F1 23 have been coming in thick and fast, with EA releasing the latest patch, V1.08, for all platforms.

Features

Two new features are included in the patch that came as a welcomed surprise:

Addition of F1 Replay Event Type in F1 World

Immediately after a real-world F1 23 race weekend, players can start a race with the drivers in the same grid positions as their real-world grid positions. This increases immersion and brings the game a lot closer to reality.

Addition of AI drivers to League Racing

Leagues can now add AI drivers to their races when there are not enough real drivers to fill up the grid. This feature can be useful, especially for small leagues, but we don't see the leagues like WOR or PSGL making much use of this feature.

Final thoughts

The other fix worth mentioning is where trial leaderboards have been reset because players used a replay glitch to set unrealistic times. This leads us to one of our biggest issues with the game: No proper anti-cheat.

If you look at the time trial leaderboards, you'll always see times substantially faster than those set by top esports drivers. These times are set by players using cheats that give them a grip or power advantage and are ruining the game. It's prevalent everywhere and may have even found its way into the esports level of competition.

As usual, we welcome this patch from EA but are still waiting for the day they release an anti-cheat worth its name.
